Responsibility

The Yukon Chamber of Mines works to promote a vibrant, healthy, safe and responsible mining and exploration industry in the Yukon. 

On October 28, the Chamber released its Yukon Mineral and Coal Exploration Best Management Practices and Regulatory Guide This is one of the Chambers major iniatives for 2010. By working with members we can reduce the potential impact of our activities on the environment and promote a vibrant and responsible mining and exploration industry in Yukon.

This year the Chamber also worked on a landmark initiative with the Tourism Industry Association of Yukon. Together the organizations developed a Memoradum of Understanding and an interactive website, miningtourism.com, to help business owners and organizations in each industry to better to work together.
