Reclamation

The Yukon Chamber of Mines encourages exploration and mining companies to actively manage their reclamation obligations and promotes the incorporation of reclamation activities while exploring a property or operating a mine.

This approach of "reclaim as you go" not only fosters more effective results over time, it also shortens the time required before land can be returned to its natural state and be available for other uses.

The Chamber also supports its members to take initiative to reclaim exploration sites impacted decades ago when best management practices were either in their infancy or non-existent.

The Chamber encourages its members to report their legacy reclamation activities - improving the Yukon environment to the benefit of all residents.
