Yukon Chamber of Mines Initiatives
The Yukon Chamber of Mines undertook a strategic planning initiative in early 2014 which charted the course for the Chamber over the next 5 years. The plan was vetted by stakeholders from a wide cross section of Yukon individuals and organizations including, but not limited to, the following: all orders of government (which includes Yukon First Nations); sister organizations (i.e., Klondike Placer Miners Association, Yukon Prospectors Association, Yukon Chamber of Commerce, and Whitehorse Chamber of Commerce); elected officials; conservation organizations; and many, many more.
Below are just some of the initiatives that the Yukon Chamber of Mines currently is involved in:
- First Nations Engagement & Consultation Guidebook for Proponents
- Education & Awareness Communications Campaign
- Mine Licensing Improvement Initiative
- - Mineral Development Strategy
- Land Use Planning
- Class 1 Thresholds
- Geoscience Forum & Trade Show
The Yukon Chamber of Mines has developed a Five Year Strategic Plan, available for download:
